This method is for anyone who wants to refresh their skills using radar that does not have automatic radar plotting aids (ARPA).
This module covers Radar in the North-Up mode. Radar skills in the Head-Up mode are equally important and are covered in a seperate lesson module.
The technique described here applies the same knowledge of vessel motion vectors that is used when plotting on paper. An advantage of this method is it enables a watch officer to make maneuvering decisions much more quickly than plotting on paper.
